Count only your own product’s facings on the fixture.
Count every facing that isn’t yours: all rival brands, own-label, everything else on the fixture.
Inputs are locked. Switch off “Lock competitor” below to edit.
Locks all inputs at their current values. Locked mode plans by adding a secondary display (Route B).
Extra brand facings can only be added in whole blocks of this size.
Share of shelf (SOS), also called share of space, is the proportion of a retail fixture your brand occupies, measured in facings. The share of shelf formula is simple: brand facings ÷ total facings × 100. If your products have 41 facings and every other product on the fixture has 58 between them, your share of shelf is 41 ÷ 99 = 41.4%.
This share of shelf calculator works out your current SOS and shows two routes to any target: taking facings from competitors on a fixed fixture, or adding a secondary display so the total grows while competitor facings stay the same. It handles the block sizes that real secondary displays come in, and flags targets that are unrealistically high.
It’s built for field sales reps and merchandisers to use in-store on a phone: no sign-up, no data stored, and it works offline once loaded.
